A report found there are more remains of soldiers dumped in a Virginia landfill than the military originally admitted.
A Washington Post article found the incinerated remains of at least 274 troops were sent to the Virginia landfill. The report was based on information from the Dover Air Base mortuary where the remains of most soldiers killed in war are taken.
The families of the soldiers authorized their disposal in a respectful way with dignity. But they say they did not know about the landfill dumping.
Air Force officials say they have no plans now to tell families about the practice.
