LOWELL, Ind. (AP) — Police in northwest Indiana say three people were killed when a car went off the road into a grassy area, became airborne and struck a tree, then rolled over and landed upside down in a creek.

Lake County police spokeswoman Patti Van Til says the bodies of 20-year-old Sasha Spencer of Lake Village and 40-year-old Dustin Gregolunas of DeMotte were pulled out of Cedar Creek in Lowell following the crash shortly after 7 a.m. Monday. She says the body of 21-year-old Raymond Rodriguez was still inside 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

Van Til says the crash remains under investigation.
