GOSHEN – Voters will have a say in whether a $35 million community center is built in Goshen.

Tuesday night, the Goshen City Council voted 4-3 in favor of a referendum on the proposal.

The public vote will be held in May.

Plans for the center include three swimming pools, three gyms, a fitness center, indoor track, meeting rooms and a family facility.

The city and school system would pay for it with a 20-year bond issue.

The cost of the referendum is estimated at $48,000.
