KNOX – Six people are behind bars after a big drug bust at a Knox motel.
Just after 9:00 p.m. Saturday, Knox police were called to the Super Value Inn on Danker St. to serve an arrest warrant. 25-year-old Jeremiah Johnson was wanted for a probation violation and was staying at the motel.
When officers went to the room where Johnson was reported to have been staying, they found several people inside the room making methamphetamine. Police noticed a chemical smell coming from the room and got a search warrant to comb through the room.
That’s when they uncovered an active meth lab plus marijuana and several prescription medications.
Police arrested Johnson along with 47-year-old James Borton, 34-year-old Richard Garrison, Jr., 51-year-old Lolus Johnson, 49-year-old Sheila Johnson and 44-year-old Deborah Clemons, all of Knox.
Each person was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, illegal drug lab, possession of meth and marijuana. Sheila and Lolus Johnson were also charged with possession of controlled substances.
