PERU, Ind. (AP) — State police say a pickup truck pulling a flatbed trailer collided with a minivan at a northern Indiana intersection, injuring eight people.
Police say the crash happened about 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Miami County Road 300 North and Meridian Road when the minivan stopped and then proceeded into the intersection and was hit by the truck. The truck was not required to stop.
Truck driver 63-year-old Richard Day of Denver was flown to a Fort Wayne hospital with a broken leg. Police say three passengers in the truck were treated at a local hospital and released.
Police say three people in the minivan were hospitalized with head injuries. A fourth was taken to a hospital after complaining of pain. Information on all their conditions wasn't immediately available
