DETROIT (AP) — "America's Most Wanted" has joined Detroit police and community activists in the hunt for man suspected in a string of rapes that has terrorized the city's east side since New Year's Day.
The Detroit News says the television show will post police sketches of the suspect on its website and accept tips at 1-800-CRIME-TV.
Detroit police also have a new 24-hour tip line: 313-596-2313. People also may call Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK UP.
Police say the suspect has raped seven women and attempted to attack another. All victims were black and range between 17 to 33 years old.
The attacks happened about five miles from downtown Detroit. Most victims were waiting for a bus or walking to or from a bus stop.
