ELKHART, Ind. (AP) — Visitors to Elkhart County this summer will find the city's elk population has expanded.

The Elkhart Truth reports (http://bit.ly/X4aZdI ) a local child abuse prevention organization is adding three painted elk statues to its collection of 30 to raise money for its programs.

Three local artists will create original designs on the blank elk. The new elk will be part of the CAPS Vines and Steins auction June 14.

Proceeds from the auction will benefit CAPS.

The organization offers parenting classes, supervised visitation and other services designed to help parents and prevent child abuse.
