LEAVENWORTH, Ind. (AP) — Authorities say a body discovered in a cave at a state forest along the Ohio River in southern Indiana may be a man reported missing four month ago.
Indiana Department of Natural Resources spokesman Phil Bloom says items found near the body in the cave at Harrison-Crawford State Forest, about 30 miles west of Louisville, appear to be similar to items 25-year-old caving enthusiast Kevin Eve purchased before going missing. The Georgetown man was last seen Oct. 1 and his car was found in the state forest along the Ohio River two days later.
Bloom says a coroner will have to determine the identity of the body.
Bloom says it will take a while to recover the body because it is in a remote area, 154 feet from the surface
