BERRIEN COUNTY – A Berrien County man suspected of ties to terrorism will go before a judge Monday afternoon.
A court hearing is scheduled for Reed Berry of St. Joseph Monday at 1:15 p.m. at the federal court in Grand Rapids. He is not charged with any terror related crimes. Berry was under surveillance because authorities say he used the internet to contact terrorist groups.
He is charged with assault for allegedly trying to ram into an FBI agent's car two days before the 10th anniversary of 911. The FBI says the alleged incident happened in Berrien County.
Berry's jury trial is scheduled for December 19, 2011 at 9 a.m.
