SOUTH BEND – You've heard of "from farm to table," but what about "from farm to school?"
Lincoln Primary Center students in South Bend got a special visit from "Bertha" the pig on Wednesday.
It was all part of B100's Quest for a Million Pennies.
The school raised $1,600 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Mrs. Crane's kindergarten class raised the most money, more $200. Their prize -- a visit from Bertha and a pizza party.
"How many people have a pig for a pet? The children were looking forward to seeing Bertha, to meeting Bertha, to kissing Bertha. It's something that they don't normally do, they don't get to meet a pig," said Faith Zehner, Bertha's owner.
Bertha said hello to kids in the top four classes that donated the most money. This is the second year Bertha has visited Lincoln Primary.
