ST. JOSEPH COUNTY -- A busted fire hydrant caused quite a mess for a St. Joseph County street late Wednesday night.
Just after 11 p.m. Tuesday, crews were called out to the 56000 block of East Avenue -- that's just west of the AM General plant.
One home was evacuated near the hydrant because crews had electricity-related concerns.
It's not clear what caused the problem with the hydrant, but a utility worker told our reporter on the scene that a car reportedly hit the hydrant, causing it to blast water all over the road.
