INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Authorities say a police officer was hurt when a fleeing driver rammed the officer's squad car during a chase that ended on the south side of Indianapolis.

The chase began early Thursday when officers were called to a home in Franklin about a fight between brothers. The driver fled from the home north toward Indianapolis, where officers were able to stop his car near the interchange of Interstate 465 and U.S. 31.

Franklin Police Chief Tom O'Sullivan tells WTHR-TV (http://bit.ly/VGQgKP ) that the fleeing driver at one point during the chase ran into a squad car and the officer needed stiches to his chin.

The fleeing man was bitten on his hand by a police dog while being caught.
