ELKHART COUNTY – A charge has been filed in the case of a 17-year-old Elkhart County girl who was seriously hurt when she was hit by a car while riding her bike over the summer.
Zion Carlstrom of Middlebury was hit while riding her bike on County Road 35 near Middlebury back in July.
Police say the man who hit her admitted to driving the car and leaving the scene.
Court records found by WSBT show 26-year-old Pasquale Rulli is now charged with failure to return to the scene of an accident.
Carlstrom suffered serious head and leg injuries.
She is now home recovering and spending time at a rehab facility in Indianapolis.
