PAOLI, Ind. (AP) — Authorities say an eight-month-old child was badly injured when a car struck an Amish buggy on a rural road in southern Indiana.
The Orange County Sheriff's Department says the crash happened Sunday night on a county road a few miles east of the town of Paoli (pay-OH'-lee) when the car ran into the buggy from behind.
The Herald-Times reports a woman and four children ages 5 and younger in the buggy were hurt in the crash. The youngest was taken to Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville, Ky., for treatment of a head injury and was listed Monday in serious condition.
The others were taken to a Paoli hospital, but information on their injuries wasn't immediately available.
