Dozens of families were hard at work today to make sure it will be a Merry Christmas for troops stationed overseas.
The St. Joe Valley Blue Star Mothers held their 4th annual "Operation Care Package" Drive at Martin's Supermarket off of Gumwood.
The group filled 200 boxes that will be mailed to the troops so they get them in time for the holidays.
Soldiers will be receiving snacks like Pop Tarts and Pringles as well as books, movies and a holiday stocking.
Each package will also include a personal note.
“We work with Martin’s and their mail call the troops, so we are sending these cards out,” said Sandra Boldt of the St. Joe Valley Blue Star Mothers. “We also have letters from Knox Middle School, and we have some other schools that are also putting letters together that we are including in the care packages.”
“I think it will mean a lot,” said Taylor Kramer, whose brother is in the military. “It’s nice getting stuff from home, knowing that people are there for you.”
The group will continue to collect donations through mid November.
