WYANDOTTE, Mich. (AP) — The U.S. Coast Guard says a cruise ship carrying 120 people has run aground and is stranded in the Detroit River.

The Coast Guard says the 216-foot Yorktown ran aground about 8 p.m. Saturday south of Detroit, near Wyandotte.

Petty Officer Tyler Andrews told the Detroit Free Press (http://on.freep.com/NTyRYd ) no injuries were reported and the ship is not taking on water.

The Coast Guard sent a response boat to the scene, and Petty Officer Jake Hauske says a commercial towing company was responding as well.

Hauske says it's not clear why the ship ran aground. He says buoys in the area seemed to be in place.
