ST. JOSEPH – Looks like a deer got in on some holiday shopping Tuesday morning in St. Joseph.
Police say a deer crashed through the window of the Schroeder Furniture building on Hilltop Road just before 11 a.m.
A sales associate yelled saying there was a deer in the store and everyone in the offices came running. Secretary Heather Pudell says the store owner and some others were able to corral the 130 pound doe near the back patio door.
“They just approached her and pushed her out to the door area and closed her in with furniture and got her out,” said Pudell. “She did no damage anything in the store. If she did it was minor."
The deer was gone before police arrived. There was some blood on the deer but they believe the doe is all right.
