PRINCETON, Ind. (AP) — Some freight train cars derailed in a southwestern Indiana city, dumping a load of coal along the tracks.
The derailment happened late Tuesday in Princeton, and WFIE-TV reports (http://bit.ly/Nqi8wP ) three crossings in the city were closed. The derailment left a large pile of coal next to the rail line in the city about 25 miles north of Evansville.
Officials say crews will clean up the coal on Wednesday but that one crossing could be closed for a few days to repair damage done to the tracks.
