SOUTH BEND — Christopher A. Perkins, 40, of Mishawaka, was identified Saturday as the motorist who died in a two-vehicle crash late Friday at Juniper and Cleveland roads in Clay Township.

St. Joseph County Police said Perkins was driving his car westbound at a high speed when he lost control and spun on the icy road several times before striking an eastbound mini-van.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Joseph County coroner’s office. The crash occurred just before 11 p.m.
Occupants of the van were identified as Andrew Zawisza, 76, and Terry Zawisza, 74, of Granger. Terry Zawisza was listed in fair condition Saturday at Memorial Hospital. Andrew Zawisza was treated and released, according to the hospital.
Police said the crash is still under investigation and toxicology results are not yet available.
