ELKHART COUNTY – An Elkhart City employee has pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography.

The Secret Service helped arrest 52-year-old Stephen Sachs of Goshen in February while he was working with the street department.

He was arrested after an investigation from Indiana's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

His sentencing is set for October 25th.

"This case resulted from an investigation by members of the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, including the United States Secret Service and the Elkhart County Police Department," according to the U.S. Attorney's office.

"This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice." the release continued. "Led by United States Attorneys' Offices and the Criminal Division's Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.
