ELKHART – Elkhart County police are asking for the public’s help in finding the person who robbed a well-known gas station/convenience store on the west county line.
Around 2 a.m. Monday, a man walked into Smith’s Fast Food Mart at Old U.S. 33 and Ash Road, pulled out a black, semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from the cash register.
The suspect made off with an undetermined amount of cash after the hold-up.
He’s described as black, unknown age, was wearing a dark hooded style sweatshirt, black baggy pants, black gloves and a white mask covering his face.
Anyone with information about the crime or the suspect involved is asked to contact the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department at (574) 533-4151.
