MISHAWAKA—Starting Monday, portions of Elm Road (also known as Capital Avenue) will be closed as traffic is re-routed along the newly constructed Capital Avenue.
Elm Road will be closed from 12th Street south to Lexington Avenue, and from Ireland Road north to Elm Road School.
Traffic along Elm Road will be shifted to a portion of the newly completed Capital Avenue, where one northbound and one southbound lane will be open for traffic.
The intersection of Ireland and Elm roads will be closed for reconstruction, but access to the Creston Hills neighborhood will be available on Hill or Creston streets.
Access to Elm Road between Lexington Street and Elm Road School will be available from Dragoon Trail.
The Indiana Department of Transportation hopes to have the Capital Avenue project between 12th Street and the St. Joseph Valley Parkway completed by July.
