YELLVILLE, Ark. (AP) — No turkeys have fallen from airplanes so far at this year's Turkey Trot Festival in a northern Arkansas town. But the Federal Aviation Administration says it will be watching.
FAA spokesman Lynn Lunsford tells the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (http://bit.ly/riRPHL ) the agency will track any pilot who drops wild turkeys over Yellville. Offenders could lose their licenses.
Lunsford says no one in town will say who flies the planes.
He said told The Associated Press the FAA hadn't received any reports of turkeys falling from the sky.
The festival continues Saturday.
Fans of the drop say it doesn't hurt the birds, which float to the ground.
Lunsford says he's seen video of a turkey falling straight down and bouncing off the roof of a building.
