MARSHALL COUNTY – Police are investigating reports that a Knox man killed in an accident in Marshall County, just west of Plymouth, may have been involved in a hit-and-run just before the crash.
This happened shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday on 9th and Quince roads. Police say emergency responders arrived to find a Ford SUV had rolled down an embankment and came to rest against a large tree.
The driver, 28-year-old Richard L. Dennis III, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say he was driving too fast on the icy road. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
Dennis may have been involved in a hit-and-run in Plymouth just before the fatal crash, say police. The investigation is ongoing.
