BRISTOL – Firefighters were back at the scene Friday looking for the cause of a fire that heavily damaged a Bristol home Thursday night.

According to Bristol Fire Chief Fay Kemp, about 50 firefighters from five departments battled the fire in the 53000 block of Pheasant Ridge Drive, in the subdivision of the same name.

Kemp says the homeowner heard a crackling sound in the garage and found it on fire. The three-stall garage and one car inside sustained heavy damage and left the rest of the home with smoke and water damage.

No one was hurt while crews battled the fire in 100-degree heat.

Chief Kemp says firefighters were only able to stay inside the home for 15 to 20 minutes at a time before a fresh crew was sent in.

She credits people who live in the Pheasant Ridge neighborhood as well as Eagles Wings ministry for supplying ice, water and energy drinks for the firefighters who worked to extinguish the fire.
