CULVER -- A group of pastors felt this community needed to come together to cry, hug, share stories, and let one another know they are not alone as they grieve the deaths of 16-year-old Stephen Suthard and 44-year-old Mike Price, who were shot and killed Wednesday night.

So the pastors organized a prayer vigil at Wesley United Methodist Church, Thursday evening.

“We really have a responsibility as a community to come together and provide those who are mourning with a sense of hope,” said Pastor Jacob Juncker.

The church was packed, not a single open pew.

They sang Amazing Grace, wrote notes to Stephen Suthard's family, lit candles for him, and told stories -- describing him as a fun and joking teenager who was loved and accepted, and who could also get into occasional trouble.

Juncker said it will be a long healing process and that they just have to get through this first day.
