SOUTH BEND – If you're looking for a direct flight from South Bend to the west, look no longer.
Frontier Airlines makes its maiden flight from Denver to South Bend Thursday night, with the first flight leaving South Bend to Denver Friday morning.
"The low-fare, high-quality service that Frontier Airlines offers will provide area residents a better option when they are traveling west," said St. Joseph County Airport Authority Executive Director Mike Daigle. "Beginning with today's flight, flying to Denver and connecting beyond just became more affordable and more comfortable for Michiana travelers."
"Community demand for the addition of our South Bend service has been strong, and we're pleased to bring the community its only nonstop flight to Denver so they can avoid the long drive to other airports," said Frontier Senior Vice President Daniel Shurz.
Frontier is scheduled to land in South Bend from Denver for the first time Thursday night at 11:33 p.m. and make its first departure from South Bend Friday at 10:07 a.m.
