They're accused of offering more than just a relaxing massage.
Police raided the City Massage and Spa, 52114 S.R. 933, north of South Bend on Monday. The St. Joseph County health Department shut the place down and police arrested a woman on prostitution charges.
Police say an 8-month investigation … prompted by community complaints … led to the arrest of Fengqin Xue of Chicago, for offering sex in exchange for money – a misdemeanor prostitution charge. She’s now in the St. Joseph County Jail.
Shelley Ingle had a feeling this place wasn't your normal spa. She's been the manager at Clay Pub on Indiana 933 for 23 years. Clay Pub is a bar just a few doors down from the massage parlor.
"I’ve been complaining since the day that opened,” Ingle says.
Police and health department officials went to four other massage parlors in South Bend, Mishawaka and Granger, but no enforcement action was taken at any of those places.
Police involved in Monday’s raid: Indiana State Police, St. Joseph County Police and Federal ICE Agents.
