As of early Thursday morning, crews are still working to restore service to about 500 customers in Indiana and Michigan. High winds Wednesday swept utility service from many people, forcing Indiana Michigan Power/AEP to call in out-of-town crews to help.

A company official told WSBT power is expected to be restored to all customers by about 6 p.m. Thursday.

Because bucket crews can’t work in wind speeds of 40 mph, restoration efforts have been slowed. With Wednesday's sustained winds, as some power was restored, service was lost in other areas.
