Elkhart County police say there were multiple crashes and slide-offs Monday morning.  

They say the the majority of the accidents were on County Road 38. Also on Ash Road north and south of the bypass.

One person was taken to the hospital after a collision at US 33 and US 6 in Elkhart County.

According to Elkhart County police, on Sunday evening about 7:30 a 30-year-old Goshen man in a 2004 Pontiac, was traveling westbound on US 6 when his car began sliding on the ice as he prepared to turn on US 33.

A 28-year-old Auburn, Ind, man told police he too was driving west on US 6  in his 1994 Ford, getting ready to turn on US 3 when he saw the other vehicle sliding around the road but could not stop in time to avoid a crash.

The Ford collided with the other vehicle causing damage to both cars.

The driver of the Ford was taken to a local hospital with complaints of head and neck pain.

The other driver complained of pain in his left shoulder.

A 30-year-old male and 10-year-old girl, both of Goshen were passengers in the Pontiac at the time of the wreck.

No citations were issued.
