La Casa de Amistad and Transforming Action both oppose Senate Bill 590. The groups say the legislation is a distraction from issues that really matter to Hoosiers, like job creation and education.

I don't care about the studies. The facts are that they are here illegally. They are not citizens, they are aliens and should be deported. I don''t care where they are from. I am of Irish descent. There are hundreds of thousands of Irish here illegally. Ship their butts back to Ireland until they can come here by following our procedures. One of the big points of NAFTA was to make it less desireable for Hispanics to leave Mexico for work. How about holding the Mexican government accountable for the crappy job they've done?
Don't misunderstand me here, there is wrong on both the left and the right on this issue. The left wants to provide amnesty because they believe that the majority of illegals would become Dem voters. The right and big business doesn't want to slay the cheap labor golden goose. Both sides are wrong. The law says they should be deported. Follow the law.

If they were legal they would not be protesting anything anyway since being an American citizen gives them the right to be here legally.
Secondly, if you deported all the illegal immigrants in our state alone our economy would not plummet. It might slow a little at first due to the shock but it was not bad before they all came here either.
And lastly, you stated that “sure it is illegal” like you are condoning breaking the laws of our land and you said the United States couldn’t afford to deport them all and that it “would cost billions of dollars” well how much have we spent on all our wars and drugs being brought in from Mexico.
We could afford to deport every one of them and still have money left over to burn. I’d gladly spend my tax dollars on deportation instead of free school lunches and healthcare. Yes I have done my research, apparently you have not.
For every study that says illegal immigrants take away jobs from legal cizitens, there are studies and figures that show the opposite. We would not have the surplus of jobs that a lot of you think we would have. The reason for that is because most of the low-skilled jobs that illegals take are jobs that there isn't much competition for from legal citizens. And some of those jobs have actually been created by the illegals themselves.
The point I'm making is if the illegals went away, most of the jobs they have would go away too. Employers simply wouldn't fill those positions, or they would find a way to invest in technology that could more efficiently do those jobs. What you should really be upset about are the companies that keep closing down and moving overseas.
There are parts of our economy that are adversely effected by illegal immigration such as our schools and certain government services. On the other hand, the are parts of our economy that are little effected, if at all, by illegal immigration. The truth is that having an illegal immigrant population decreases the cost of certain things for Americans in the hospitatlity, construction, and food industries. Therefore, they actually slightly promote growth in the economy.
There is no simple solution to illegal immigration; certainly notdeporting them all as some of you say.
