INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana authorities want to suspend the license of an Indianapolis registered nurse charged with setting a deadly house explosion.

Attorney General Greg Zoeller (ZEL'-ur) said Friday that his office has asked the Indiana State Board of Nursing for an emergency suspension of Monserrate Shirley's nursing license. The board will consider the petition on Jan. 17.

A Nov. 10 explosion at Shirley's Indianapolis home destroyed the residence and other nearby houses, killing a couple living next door and causing about $4 million in damages. Prosecutors have charged Shirley with two counts of murder, two counts of conspiracy to commit arson and 45 counts of arson. Also charged are her boyfriend, Mark Leonard, and his brother, Bob Leonard.

A message seeking comment was left with Shirley's attorney.
