OAKTOWN, Ind. (AP) — A small southern Indiana town has run into some snags in trying to sell its Town Hall that includes an ice cream shop.
Dentist Renee Goodwin has reached a $30,000 deal with the Oaktown council to buy the office as a new location for her practice. But Clerk-Treasurer Carol Beaman says Goodwin also has interest in buying the parking lot and the portion of the building on which the Oaks Ice Cream Station has a 20-year lease.
Councilman Sherman Loudermilk told Vincennes Sun-Commercial that the parking lot was donated to the Knox County town and is often used when larger events are held at the nearby community center.
Town officials plan to build a pole barn as a new site for the clerk-treasurer's office.
