INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Police say an Indianapolis man was crushed to death beneath the bed of a truck while working at an apartment complex's parking lot.
Indianapolis police spokesman Kendale Adams tells The Indianapolis Star (http://indy.st/MkmEuX ) that 53-year-old Ronald Davenport died in Monday's workplace accident behind the Lafayette Landings apartments.
Adams says Davenport had climbed up the ladder of a dump truck-type of vehicle to speak with a co-worker when the bed of the truck lifted up and crushed him. Davenport was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Adams said there's no indication of foul play. The Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Administration will investigate Davenport's death.
