OSSEO, Wis. (AP) — The State Patrol has identified two people from Michigan killed in a fiery interstate crash involving three semitrailers in western Wisconsin.
Authorities say 47-year-old Clara Lee Ann Wonsowicz of Brighton, Mich., and 46-year-old Thomas John Scott Brown of Ypsilanti (ip-suh-LAN'-tee), Mich., died in the crash on Interstate 94 in Trempealeau (TREMP'-eh-loh) County Wednesday.
The patrol says Wonsowicz was driving a semi that crossed the median near Osseo (OS-ee-oh) and struck two semis traveling in the opposite direction. Brown was a passenger in the semi that crossed the median. Two of the semis became engulfed in flames.
The driver of a semi owned by Nationwide Distributor was taken to an area Mayo Clinic-affiliated treatment center with minor injuries. A passenger in the third semi received minor injuries, but was not transported.
