SOUTH BEND — A three-day trial ended with a South Bend man being found guilty of robbery and burglary.

Carlos Odom, 28, was found guilty of two Class B felonies this week for robbing and burglarizing an 85-year-old man at his home on West Hamilton Street in May 2010.

During the daylight robbery, Odom reportedly knocked on the home’s door, then pushed the home’s owner to the ground after he opened it.

Odom then took a pistol and cash before leaving the home, police previously said.

This week’s trial before St. Joseph County Superior Court Judge Jane Woodward Miller came after an October trial that ended with a hung jury.

Odom is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 22. The sentencing range for each Class B felony is between six and 20 years.
