INDIANAPOLIS - Culver Academy sophomore Kayla Miracle became the first female wrestler ever to compete in the Indiana state wrestling finals on Friday.

"I just want to set a good example," Miracle said before her opening round match at 106 pounds. "Some girls get told girls can't wrestle. I want them to know that it's OK to come out for a guy's sport."
Miracle lost a tough match to Garrett's Hayden Lee, a 4-0 decision.

"It's not what I wanted," Miracle said afterwards. "Everyone wants to win on Friday night but at least I made it here."
