LAGRANGE COUNTY -- Following complaints from the members of the LaGrange town board, police in LaGrange County have launched an investigation surrounding Town Clerk Michael D. Rowlison.

Board members filed a misconduct complaint against Rowlison, which included a tip that he may be taking things purchased for the town for his own use.

On Tuesday, police searched a property in the 400 block of South Poplar Street in LaGrange.

Police discovered several items there that belonged to the town of LaGrange.

Rowlison was questioned and later arrested on two counts of theft and one count of official misconduct -- all felony charges.

Police tell us Rowlison bonded out of jail shortly after he was booked.

The case is still under investigation.
