ELKHART -- If you live in Elkhart, it could soon cost you more to turn on your faucets.
Mayor Dick Moore is proposing a rate hike over the next three years.
On average, bills for homeowners would go up $6.36 per month next year.
In 2014, rates will increase by $2.09 and in 2015, a $3.85 hike.
The rate increases are expected to find more than 20 million dollars in federally mandated sewer construction projects.
No word on when Elkhart's City Council will consider the plan.
