Possible suspects, according to police // Photo provided (March 15, 2013) |
Mark Rand of RANDom Photography left his camera inside his girlfriend's car when he went shopping at the Meijer on Grape Road in Mishawaka March 10th. He went inside, put his keys in the shopping cart and turned his back for a moment. When he turned back around, the cart was gone. Rand notified management and went to keep an eye on his car for a while. But then a large group of shoppers came by, blocking his view. When they moved, his car was gone with the camera inside.
The store did catch some surveillance photos of possible suspects, according to police. In one photo, you see a man wearing a Notre Dame sweatshirt along with a woman in a white jacket. In another photo (found to the left of the text in this article), you see a man in a black hooded sweatshirt. Police also say the suspects may have been driving a gold minivan and that they didn't just steal a car, they stole memories.
"So now that's gone and it contains photos that belong to a newly wed couple they're not going to have that sentimental experience of being able to enjoy their wedding through the pictures they took," said Lt. Tim Williams with the Mishawaka Police Dept.
Rand was driving a grey 2009 Pontiac G6 4 door sedan. His Sony Digital Camera was in the backseat. Anyone with information is asked to call Mishawaka Police at 574-258-1684.
