LAGRANGE COUNTY – The Lagrange County Police say there will be no charges connected to the possible neglect of horses on a county farm.

WSBT reported Sunday night that animal control officers were looking into possibly seizing horses from the property.

Sheriff's deputies investigated the claim but did not find any signs of neglect.

Seven horses were voluntarily removed from the property by the owners who were boarding the horses there. Two of them were given to a rescue group out of White Pigeon, Michigan. One horse was found dead on the property; it is believed it died early Monday morning. Another horse was malnourished but the rest were healthy.

The horse owner says she bought the animals about a month ago and was trying to rehabilitate them. All of the animals had ample food and water.
