DETROIT (AP) — A Detroit man has been charged in the shooting deaths of his grandmother and aunt, and the critical wounding of his 7-year-old daughter.
The Wayne County prosecutor's office says 28-year-old Ferdarius Shine is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and three counts of assault with intent to murder. He was expected to be arraigned Thursday.
Prosecutors say 49-year-old Santangela Williams and 68-year-old Geraldine Bates were shot multiple times Friday in a west side Detroit home. The girl's name wasn't released.
Bates was Shine's grandmother. Williams was his aunt.
Shine pedaled away on a bike, later checking into an area hospital that treats people with mental illness. Police arrested him there.
Investigators found a gun at the home and say Shine had a concealed pistol license.
