FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — A judge has sentenced a Fort Wayne man to 170 years in prison a shooting attack on an ambulance and a second vehicle.
Twenty-three-year-old Dontay Martin was sentenced Monday after a jury convicted him on four counts of attempted murder, two counts of criminal recklessness and one count each of battery, gang activity and carrying an unlicensed handgun.
Twenty-four-year-old co-defendant Traneilous Jackson pleaded guilty and was sentenced last week to 60 years. He testified at Martin's trial that Martin nearly emptied a semi-automatic weapon with a 30-round magazine at the ambulance carrying a man who had been stabbed at a nightclub last Sept. 9 and the victim's family and friends in the trailing vehicle.
More than 30 bullets tore through the vehicles, injuring people inside both.
