Aaron Bassler was suspected in the fatal shootings of a Fort Bragg city councilman and a county land trust official. HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. (AP) — A CIA contractor who had been accused by Pakistan of two killings there has posted bond in Colorado where he was arrested on misdemeanor charges. Authorities say Raymond Davis got in a fight over a parking spot. He had been freed by Pakistani authorities after the families of two men he killed agreed to accept $2.34 million in "blood money." WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama has issued a sharp rebuke of his Republican rivals for staying silent when the crowd at a recent debate booed a gay soldier who asked a question on videotape. Obama spoke at the annual dinner of the Human Rights Campaign, the nation's largest gay rights organization. He says a commander in chief must support the entire military. PADANG, Indonesia (AP) — Indonesia's anti-terrorism squad has arrested Beni Asri for allegedly plotting suicide attacks. Asri is one of the country's most wanted Muslim militants. He allegedly was one of the people behind a church bombing as well as a suicide attack on police officers. WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration's energy chief is defending a loan guarantee program that has provided billions of dollars for solar and other renewable energy projects. Energy Secretary Steven Chu has been facing increased pressure over the failure of solar panel maker Sondra after it got one of the loans. He spoke at a Solar Decathlon sponsored by the Energy Department.
