LANSING – Michigan's Governor has defeated a recall effort without needing to campaign.
A group seeking to recall Republican Rick Snyder has decided to end the effort. A spokesperson for the governor says they were fairly certain the effort would lose interest as people saw progress in the state's economy.
The group named Michigan Rising was trying to recall Governor Snyder but admitted seeing Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker's victory in a recall election Tuesday made it clear how hard it would be to recall Snyder.
Michigan Rising announced Thursday it will stop collecting signatures and may start a progressive think tank.
