MANCHESTER, Mich. (AP) — A Manchester school district official says a high school student has died during a school trip to Germany.

District official Kevin Mowrer says the Manchester High School student was participating in one of the school's foreign language trips when he died in an apparent drowning.

AnnArbor.com and WXYZ-TV report grief counselors are to be available Thursday and Friday at the high school an hour's drive west of Detroit.

WDIV-TV reports the boy's body was found Wednesday.

Mowrer says the school sends students involved in the Spanish and German programs on annual trips.
