FRUITPORT, Mich. (AP) — A 21-year-old West Michigan man is apologizing for using giggling first graders in a YouTube video that featured sexual themes and vulgar language.
Evan Emory of Fruitport tells The Muskegon Chronicle Friday that he didn't exercise good judgment in producing the video, but is not a "sick criminal."
Emory is charged with manufacturing child abusive material. Conviction carries up to 20 years in prison and registration as a sex offender.
He videotaped his Jan. 12 performance of a children-themed song featuring about two dozen students. He later edited the more explicit lyrics into the video.
The video was reported to authorities and taken off the popular Internet site.
Emory says police on Tuesday came to his home about 30 miles northwest of Grand Rapids looking for evidence associated with pedophiles.
