KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) — A $27 million winning Mega Millions lottery ticket spent a weekend in a southwestern Michigan man's wallet.

Kendall Warren tells The Kalamazoo Gazette he bought the ticket last week in a Kalamazoo convenience store but didn't learn he won until Monday. The 61-year-old from Kalamazoo County's Oshtemo Township says he looked at his ticket after hearing the winner had been sold at the same Circle K where he bought his.

Warren says his "legs turned to water" and "hit the desk" after confirming his jackpot win from Friday's drawing. He's contacted the Michigan Lottery but hasn't met with officials to claim the prize.

The analytical engineer says he doesn't plan to quit his job.

Mega Millions is played in 41 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
