SOUTH BEND -- Police were called to Muessel Elementary School Tuesday morning after a teacher told authorities a 9-year-old student hit her twice in the arm.
The teacher, 30, told authorities that the suspect was fighting with another female student and had hit her in the face with a closed fist.
When the teacher got in between the two students, the teacher was hit in the left arm twice, according to a police report.
The student's grandmother picked her up and took her home.
Police are looking into whether juvenile charges will be filed against the student.
