Night spent in dumpster nearly fatal

He fell asleep curled up in a warm dumpster at the end of a chilly night of drinking. Suddenly, at about 4:30 a.m. Friday, William Gross was jarred awake by the roar and violent motion of a garbage truck picking up the dumpster to empty the trash into the steel jaws of its large hydraulic compactor.
